The US Open has two different American Express lounge experiences in 2026: the Card Member Lounge and The Centurion Lounge at US Open. They are not two names for the same room. They sit in different places, accept different cards and use different entry systems. Making that distinction before you reach Flushing Meadows is the most important step in this guide.

The general Card Member Lounge is the realistic target for most eligible Amex cardholders. You show a valid card, a linked card in a mobile wallet or the validated Amex QR pass in the US Open app, then wait if the room is at capacity. The premium Centurion Lounge is narrower: holding a Platinum or Centurion Card establishes eligibility, but most visitors also need a confirmed reservation made through a specific Resy page.

Neither lounge is a match ticket. This is particularly important at the Centurion Lounge because it is physically inside Louis Armstrong Stadium. Amex states that the lounge reservation does not provide stadium access. Your reservation must match a time when your US Open ticket gives you access to that stadium. A grounds ticket or a seat elsewhere should never be assumed to open every controlled stadium area.

Think of both spaces as optional breaks inside a tennis day, not the day’s anchor. Start with the current US Open schedule, identify the matches you refuse to miss and place lounge time between them. Capacity, one-hour limits and live tennis all reward flexibility. If a reservation conflicts with a compelling match or your ticket’s access, the match should win.

Card Member Lounge access, guests and location

Most American Express Card Members can try the general Card Member Lounge in 2026 without making a Resy reservation. Bring a valid Amex Card and go to the US Open American Express Fan Experience beside the Main Entry; the lounge is on its second level. American Express Prepaid Cards are excluded. One eligible Card Member may enter with as many as two accompanied guests, so a qualifying card can cover a three-person party.

There are three practical ways to show that you are a Card Member. You can present the physical card, use the same card from a mobile wallet, or validate it in the US Open app and show the resulting Amex QR pass. Do not confuse the lounge with the ground-floor Fan Experience. The Fan Experience is open to all fans, subject to capacity, while its upstairs Card Member Lounge requires an eligible Amex card. Centurion Lounge eligibility and guest limits

The Centurion Lounge at the 2026 US Open is for American Express Platinum Card and Centurion Members, but the two card types have different party limits. A Platinum Member can reserve for no more than two people total—the member and one guest. A Centurion Member can reserve for no more than four people total—the member and up to three guests. “Two” and “four” are table sizes, not the number of guests that may follow the member inside.

These are event-specific rules, so do not import assumptions from an airport lounge or another Amex venue. Amex allows one reservation per eligible member per day. Separate bookings cannot be joined into a larger party, and any extra reservations beyond the stated limit may be cancelled. A Platinum couple cannot make two one-person reservations and expect them to become a table for four after arrival. Book the full eligible party size at the outset.

The card also has to travel with the person whose name is on the booking. At check-in, the reservation holder must show the qualifying Platinum or Centurion Card physically or through a digital wallet, and the name on that card must match the Resy reservation. The complete party must arrive together within 10 minutes of the booked start. Because the one-hour window begins at the time printed in Resy rather than the moment you are seated, a late arrival consumes part of the visit.

The biggest access trap sits outside the lounge door: The Centurion Lounge is on the second level of Louis Armstrong Stadium, and an Amex reservation does not grant stadium admission. Centurion Members have one additional option in the published terms: they may request walk-in access subject to capacity. How to book the 2026 Centurion Lounge on Resy

Same-day Centurion Lounge reservations are scheduled to release at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time on each day of the 2026 main draw, beginning August 30. They last up to one hour and are extremely limited. The winning preparation happens before release time: create or log into a Resy account, add the eligible Platinum or Centurion Card to that profile, and save the dedicated venue link.

The deep link matters. Amex says this lounge is not searchable through the normal Resy app or website search, so typing its name into the search box and seeing nothing does not prove that booking has closed. Go directly to the venue page, sign in before 9:30 a.m. ET, and be ready to select the right party size and an acceptable time as soon as inventory appears. Reservations are first come, first served and may disappear quickly.

If every suitable time is gone, use Resy’s Notify option. Notify is a waitlist alert, not a reservation: it can send an SMS if inventory reopens, but another eligible member may claim that table unless you act promptly and finish the booking. Amex does not offer a rescue channel by phone, email or chat. Do not spend match time asking customer service to manufacture a slot that Resy does not show.

There is a small source conflict worth knowing. Amex’s dedicated live 2026 campaign and its detailed lounge terms specify the 9:30 a.m. ET same-day release. A separate Amex FAQ confirms the August 30–September 13 reservation period but still says the release timing is to be confirmed. Once booked, save the confirmation and cancel in Resy if your plans change. There is no cancellation charge stated for this experience, and releasing a table helps another fan. Most importantly, keep the reservation aligned with both your ticket access and must-see matches; a scarce lounge slot is not valuable if you cannot reach the room or it pulls you away from the tennis you came to see.

What to expect inside and how to use the hour well

The Centurion Lounge is best understood as a one-hour reset with light food and drinks, not an all-day hospitality suite. American Express describes light bites and beverages for 2026, while current independent coverage says dishes are connected to Culinary Collective chefs Kwame Onwuachi and Mike Solomonov. That sounds appealing, but the exact menu, availability and service pace can vary. Do not arrive expecting a guaranteed dish or enough food to replace every meal in a long stadium day.

Your hour begins at the reservation time shown in Resy, even if you check in late. Arriving seven minutes after the start does not push the end seven minutes later. Have the eligible card and confirmation ready, gather the full party before approaching the host and use the restroom before check-in if possible. Those small choices preserve the scarce time for sitting, cooling down and eating.

There may also be a complimentary gift bag, but the rule is narrower than many visitors assume. Only the eligible Card Member who holds the confirmed reservation may receive one; guests do not qualify. The limit is one gift bag for that Card Member across the entire 2026 US Open, not one per reservation or per day. Distribution is first come, first served, contents may change and supplies can run out. Treat it as a pleasant extra, never the reason to book.

Use the live US Open schedule before and during the visit. A best-case lounge hour still has an opportunity cost: Armstrong crowds, court-change traffic and a suddenly compelling match can alter the day. Other 2026 Amex perks and a match-day checklist

The US Open Amex lounge is only one piece of the 2026 cardholder program. Depending on your day, a radio that carries match coverage, a correctly enrolled spending offer or a limited MTA ride decal may deliver more practical value than waiting for a lounge. Each benefit has separate rules, so showing one card once does not automatically activate everything.

Amex Radios are offered while supplies last. The general limit is one radio per Card Member per day; Platinum and Centurion Members may receive one additional radio for an accompanied guest.
