Mackenzie McDonald's route from UCLA champion to ATP No. 37
Mackenzie McDonald entered professional tennis with an uncommon college double: he won both the NCAA singles and doubles championships for UCLA in 2016. The 5-foot-10 Californian then built a tour career that included fourth-round runs at Wimbledon in 2018 and the Australian Open in 2021, a Washington final in 2021, and a career-high singles ranking of No. 37 in 2023. His record is not solely a singles story, either; McDonald reached No. 49 in doubles and won an ATP doubles title.
