Julieta Pareja accelerated from leading junior to tour-level threat at sixteen. In 2025 the Californian qualified for Bogota and reached the semifinals in her first WTA main draw, becoming the youngest woman to reach a tour semifinal since Coco Gauff in 2019. Pareja came within one qualifying win of the 2024 US Open main draw, then received a women's singles wildcard in 2025. Her first main-draw opponent was 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina, who won in straight sets and did not lose a first-serve point. Pareja also entered women's doubles with Akasha Urhobo before returning to the girls' draw as its top seed.
