Ugo Blanchet: a late-blooming French professional who changed his training habits
Ugo Blanchet did not make a Grand Slam main draw until age twenty-six, and he is candid about why his climb took time. The Frenchman has said that his early approach to practice was not professional enough; a sharper routine and work with former world No. 50 Stéphane Robert helped turn Challenger-level promise into major results. He won his first Challenger title in Malaga in 2023 and qualified for his Grand Slam debut at Roland Garros in 2025. Blanchet's progress is a useful counterpoint to the usual teenage-breakthrough story: his best stage arrived after he learned how to organize the daily work around his talent.
