Toby Samuel left South Carolina with 100 college singles wins, two singles All-America honors and a doubles All-America honor. In 2024 he became the first Gamecock to finish an SEC season unbeaten, going 10-0 in conference play. His professional jump accelerated in 2026: Samuel won three titles in three weeks at Vale do Lobo and the two Hersonissos Challengers, losing only one of 31 sets across that run. He then qualified for his first Grand Slam main draw at Roland Garros by beating Martin Damm, former world No. 7 David Goffin and Gonzalo Bueno.
