Nikoloz Basilashvili built a five-title career with first-strike power
Nikoloz Basilashvili became the first Georgian to win an ATP singles title when he qualified and lifted the 2018 Hamburg trophy. He added Beijing later that season, defended Hamburg in 2019 and won Doha and Munich in 2021. The Doha run included a saved match point against Roger Federer, while the Beijing final brought a win over Juan Martin del Potro. Those results helped Basilashvili reach No. 16, the highest ranking achieved by a Georgian man. His ATP biography lists hard court and the forehand as his favorites.
