Linda Fruhvirtova: a teenage WTA champion rebuilding toward her best level
Linda Fruhvirtova announced herself early. At 17, the Czech right-hander won the 2022 Chennai title by recovering from 4-1 down in the deciding set against Magda Linette, becoming that season's youngest WTA singles champion. She followed with a fourth-round run at the 2023 Australian Open and rose to No. 49. Results later became less linear, but 2025 brought WTA 125 runner-up finishes in Birmingham and Puerto Vallarta plus a qualifying run to Miami's third round. Fruhvirtova, a former junior No. 2, continues to develop alongside younger sister and fellow professional Brenda.
