Peyton Stearns connects NCAA history with two WTA titles
Peyton Stearns became the first University of Texas woman to win the NCAA singles championship in 2022 after helping the Longhorns secure consecutive team titles. She soon translated that college foundation to the professional tour: a first WTA final in Bogotá in 2023, the Rabat title in 2024 and a second trophy in Austin in 2026. The Austin victory was especially personal, coming near her alma mater through a 7-6(8), 7-5 final against Taylor Townsend. Stearns has reached No. 28 and lists hard court as her favorite surface.
