Lukas Neumayer: a seventh-final breakthrough on the Challenger Tour
Lukas Neumayer's first Challenger title rewarded unusual persistence. The Austrian reached six finals at that level without winning, including Vicenza and Cordenons in 2025, before rallying past Michele Ribecai 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 on Barletta clay in April 2026. He soon added a second Challenger trophy during a season in which he became one of the circuit's leading match winners. Neumayer, who began playing at five because both parents played, reached a career-high No. 157 in August 2025. He names the forehand as his favorite shot and clay as his preferred surface.
