Gauthier Onclin: a hard-court surge after the ITF grind
Gauthier Onclin built his rise through a dense schedule below tour level. In late 2024 he won consecutive M25 titles in Vale do Lobo and Monastir, then carried a 13-match winning streak into the 2025 Australian Open. There he beat Roman Burruchaga, Aleksandar Kovacevic and Mackenzie McDonald to qualify for his first major main draw on his fifth attempt. The Belgian, coached by former ATP player Steve Darcis, later climbed toward the top 170. ITF lists hard court as his preferred surface, matching the setting of his most important breakthrough.
