Emerson Jones carried junior World No. 1 form into the professional game
Emerson Jones finished 2024 as the junior World No. 1 after reaching the girls' singles finals at both the Australian Open and Wimbledon. The Australian then accelerated her senior transition: she won a W75 title in Sydney, beat Top 40 opponent Wang Xinyu for her first WTA main-draw victory in Adelaide and made her Grand Slam debut at the 2025 Australian Open against Elena Rybakina. Late in 2025, Jones went 12-2 across Brisbane, Sydney and Playford, successfully defended the Playford title and secured another Australian Open wild card. Her progress has come through a deliberate mix of junior majors, home ITF events and selected tour-level tests.
