Ekaterine Gorgodze built a long career across singles and doubles
Ekaterine Gorgodze has represented Georgia across nearly two decades of professional tennis, reaching a singles career high just outside the Top 100 and becoming an established doubles player. Her best tour-level trophy sequence came with Irina Bara in 2021: the pair won the Karlsruhe and Buenos Aires WTA 125 events and the Transylvania Open, remaining unbeaten together through those weeks. Gorgodze continued producing singles surprises later in her career. At Tolentino in 2025, aged 33, she defeated top seed Mayar Sherif 6-0, 6-2 for her first Top 100 win since 2022. Her record is defined by longevity, left-handed variety and cross-discipline experience.
