Darya Astakhova rebuilt momentum after an early clay-court rise
Darya Astakhova won her first professional title at age 17 in Heraklion, recovering from a set down against Arina Vasilescu after losing her first four career finals. She returned to the same Greek clay in 2021 and collected a fourth ITF singles title at 19. Her ranking later reached a career high of No. 181 in 2023, supported by WTA 125 results that included a semifinal in Iasi. After a difficult 2024-25 stretch, Astakhova rebuilt match volume in 2026, reached another WTA 125 semifinal in Foggia and produced strong clay results. Her career line is one of recovery rather than uninterrupted ascent.
